FW22 WOOL STRIPE LAMINATED UTILITY JACKET
Junya Watanabe is a Japanese-born fashion designer. In early life Junya would graduate from Bunka Fashion College, from where he would be hired by Rei Kawakubo to work as a pattern cutter & maker for CDG. After working on CDGs Tricot & Home lines from 1987, he would branch out in 1992 to set up his own self-titled fashion label.
Junya Watanabe has risen into prominence for his unique & unforgiving approach to fashion. Looking at his runways it is clear that he doesn't follow trends, and always does whatever he wants to do. “Whatever you really want to do comes first, before trends. I always tell myself to do my best and create something new and strong. The final products show what you have achieved. No words can explain it. If the products don’t show anything, it is a failure. There is no special hidden secret. It just comes out from repetitive process of everyday work.” Junya has become sort of an enigma in the fashion scene, as he rarely shows his face and likes to remain behind the scenes.
This jacket features a junya-typical number of pockets throughout, with a double layer 82% Wool & 18% Polyester laminate outer layer. The jacket also features an adjustable hood, double zip closure, and adjustable cuffs. The jacket is also made in Japan.
