Productions Lung Pocket Fleece Jacket
In 1995, following his departure from Sportswear Company, Massimo Osti embarked on a new chapter in his career by launching his own independent fashion venture, aptly named Production. With over two decades of experience in textile innovation, garment construction, and functional design, Osti sought to reassert his creative autonomy and oversee every aspect of production within his new brand.
At the heart of Production was the flagship line, Massimo Osti Production, marking the first time the designer attached his own name to a collection. This move signified a deeply personal endeavor, one that Osti himself described as “a summary of what my life’s work has been.” The brand encompassed collections for both men and women, maintaining Osti’s signature emphasis on utility, quality, and cutting-edge material research.
While Massimo Osti Production carried forward the ethos of form and functionality that had defined his earlier work, it also introduced a shift in aesthetic direction. The collections embraced a more subdued and minimalist approach, favoring a restrained color palette dominated by sober tones such as grey and black. Unlike many of Osti’s previous ventures, which often featured distinctive branding elements, Massimo Osti Production largely eschewed visible logos and insignias, allowing the craftsmanship and innovative textiles to speak for themselves.
This fleece jacket, from the earlier collections of "productions", is beautifully constructed, and features two lung-shaped chest pockets, as well as two lower hip pockets. The jacket features exposed seams, branded buttons, and ventilation holes at the armpits.
